In this session, we'll explore the current state of AI in healthcare, focusing on practical tools already available to physicians and how they can be effectively implemented. We'll also address the broader role of the physician in the development and refinement of AI for clinical use, ensuring it enhances patient care without overpromising. Attendees will leave with a clear understanding of how AI can support their practice today and how they can contribute to shaping its future in emergency medicine.

Owais U. Durrani, DO, is a STEM education advocate, medical analyst, TV host, speaker, and practicing board-certified emergency medicine physician in Houston, TX. He graduated from The University of Texas at Austin with degrees in Biology and Political Science. Before earning his medical degree from Oklahoma State University, he worked at The White House in the Obama administration. Dr. Durrani frequently serves as a medical contributor in print media and is a frequent independent medical contributor on CNN, MSNBC, BBC, CBS, NBC, and other networks. He loves speaking about a variety of topics including advocacy, STEM education, technology (AI, blockchain, telehealth) in healthcare, inequities in medicine, and social media in medicine. He also is a host for a children's television series "STEM City" in Houston on NBC, with a
passion for inspiring the next generation of STEM leaders.
