OVERVIEW
This session examines the DiMe Seal framework for evaluating digital health software products (DHSPs), focusing on three critical domains that determine whether these technologies truly deliver value in clinical practice. Participants will explore current evidence gaps in DHSP validation, assess privacy and security risks that impact patient trust, and outline how usability barriers and complex legal requirements can prevent these tools from supporting accessible, whole-person care. The session emphasizes practical evaluation criteria that ensure digital health products meet rigorous standards for clinical effectiveness, data protection, and patient-centered design.
Speakers:
Doug Mirksy; Sameer Sood, DO; Jesse Cornacchione; Patrick Mahoney, MBA, RAC
OBJECTIVES
Analyze some of the current gaps in clinical evidence for Digital Health Software Products (DHSPs), ensuring they support patient-centered, health outcomes
Identify the risks associated with DHSPs' privacy, security, and compliance measures that may compromise patient trust and data integrity
Evaluate how usability challenges and overly complex legal documentation (EULAs) in DHSPs can obstruct patient access and hinder the delivery of whole-person care in a digital health setting
